Hi Josh,

The Internal Tray kit will go for $20US, plus $6US shipping and handling in US.  Since I feel this should have been part of the original kit, I am selling this at cost.  I am getting a shipment of these in next week.

The kit comes with everything you see on the first picture, minus the screw driver.

Thanks
Ken

I just see an acrylic top, so I wasn't sure if that was included or not.  Thanks for the info.

I can't wait to see the tray, kind of put the finishing touch on this kit, appearance wise.  For something that work this well and sound this nice, should really look nice too. :-)

Ken

Josh,

Not sure what that acrylic top is about.  Some CD-PRO2 owners in Taiwan did a group buy for it, not sure if we have any.  Will let you know.

Thanks
Ken

This looks very promising. We need 3 of these, and maybe 3 of these?

When can they ship? And of course this would be overseas.

Yes, I have the clamp and the tray in stock.  Let me know how many you need and I'll ship them to you.

Inner Tray - $20US
Clamp - $40US -- please note you need to take the magnet out of your current clamp, and insert into this one.
Clear Acrylic Cover - $25US.

Thanks

Re the black steel inner tray:
There are holes on three sides of the tray which I believe is for mounting the blue leds.
Can anyone advise what is the major role of these leds? - I saw a pic with at least 6 leds somewhere on a website a while back but lost the tread.
If my guess is correct, the led helps to get audio improvement.  But how many is best? 1, 2, 3, or more?
Which are the best led mounting holes to give the best results?
How and from where to get the power supply?
Any specifications for the led and where to buy them?
Seems trivial matters but hope this would give better sound.

Hey, anyone see the Stereophile review of the $8000 Ensemble Dirondo CS player out of Switzerland? It uses the CD Pro2 transport (looked familiar in the product picture). ken, you need to kick up the price a bit on your kit  :nono:

Even the buttons on the front look familiar. Similar (sparce) feature set, but for $8000 I would definitely expect more. Reading between the lines I would say that this Ensemble player isn't very good, for the moey or otherwise. But of course the reviewer wound up saying that "I could live with this player forever" at the end.

How nice.
Bob

Hi Bob,

Yes, I read that article too, amazing! $8,000!

Plus, I don't think I have the heart to open up an $8K machine and tweak it to my taste, an Opamp here, a resistor there.

See you tomorrow at Josh's.

Ken

So I did the upgrade. Looks good, but the clamps doesn't "grip" the cd as good as the former. When the transport spins up, it makes a noise. The cd doesn't accelerate as fast as the transport.
Any suggestions for this?

Hi Bambadoo,

The issue is not enough contact surfaces.  The magnet is probably sunk in too much.  Can you take the magnet out again, and apply a bit more glue to the back of the magnet?  The magnet surface need to be parallel (at least) the "rim" of the magnet holder.

Please let me know if this solution works for you.

Ken

Ok, I will try. Hopefully the superglue will slip when I work on it.
I followed the instructions on this page:
http://www.diyzone.net/article.php?sid=546
I wasn't able to read, but the pictures were good. Still it doesn't look as if
the magnet surface is in  parallel with the "rim" of the magnet holder on those pictures.
Thanks for the advice
Best Regards

Hey there Ken, been trying to get in touch with you about purchasing one of your CD clamps.  Figured I'd post in this thread since I've had trouble elsewhere.  Let me know if you have one available.  Thanks!
