Just ordered new pair of Norh 4.0 marbles!

I'm very excited! This will be my first set of Norh speakers, so I can't wait to try them out.

Does anyone know how long it takes for these to arrive in the US? I'm assuming its several weeks given the distance.

Wow, thats faster than I expected. So I may have them this weekend. It would be nice to show them off at our Superbowl party!

It sounds like they aren't producing them any longer, but they are getting rid of ones that are laying around... When I first contacted them, they didn't have any "perfect" ones available, so they were going to sell me a pair that had imperfections in the marble cabinet at a discounted price. Someone else backed out on a purchase of a perfect pair though, so I was able to get them.

Namphung will send you a tracking # when they ship.

Did she give you any indication of when she thinks they will ship?

If not, see if she can tell yoiu when and what the tracking # is....

CONGRATS on getting the speakers. They are special, especially for the money....

I just got the email from her today confirming that my credit card would be charged, so they should go out tonight... It would be great if they got here by Saturday, but I won't get my hopes up.

Are there any easy tweaks or mods I should search for in this forum?

Remove the grills is about the only tweak to those....oh and a musical subwoofer to give more of a foundation to the music.

I received my marble 4.0s today. These things are heavy and beautiful!!! The center cone is punched in on one of the speakers... Is this something that I can fix, or will I need a new woofer?

Also, does anyone know what the 4 black plastic pieces are that come with the speakers? I can't figure them out. They look like push inserts, but they don't fit anywhere.

You could try to gingerly use a bit of sticky tape to uncrimp them, but I'd be unhappy if they were new and permanently and noticeably creased.

If you can get a vacume hose near (do not touch the woofer, just get it close)
it should pull it out. You can also try to pull it out with tape.

Do the grills fit on the speakers correctly? If so, they are extra pieces.

Will this affect the sound of that speaker? If so, should I ask for a replacement woofer? I don't want to ask if its not going to impact the sound. It looks fine to me now.

If it appears to be glued on well, it should be fine. The local speaker doctor told me that it doesn't really matter if a woofer cap is slightly dented as long as it has enough clearance and doesn't hit any internal parts to cause a buzz. So, I would imagine your fix is as good as new.

Congrats on the new speakers, the marble ones have always intrigued me. Any first impressions?

Here are my first impressions:

These are very small but heavy speakers. They are far more beautiful than the pictures on the norh website.

As for the sound... I purchased these for casual music-only listening in my livingroom. Prior to these speakers I was using Swan 5.1's. Out of the box, the norh's surprisingly rival the swans, dispite a serious disadvantage in size. I have only listened for about 2 hours total (nothing bass challenging), but I can't say I'm missing the swans at all. Plus, the norhs have a much better furniture appeal...

Congrats! The marble 4's are very nice speakers. I love the character that the marble 9s add to my living room.
