Right now there is a used Ultravalve tube amp listed on eBay for only - - - - $2500.

Gee what a deal, a brand new one is $1599 directly from us.

Also there is a 40 year old VA Systems 125W/Ch Model 3 power amp  listed for $1425.  Unfortunately no service or parts available on this antique.  Such a deal.

We have a two year old Synergy 450 225W/Ch in new condition available for $1299 including a factory warranty good through September, 2020.

Ebay also has a 10 year old AVA AvaStar preamp available for $1500.  The AvaStar circuit was retrofitted into an older EC chassis back then, but the tone controls are disconnected as they did not function with the AvaStar circuit set.  So this is a simple preamp, no tone controls, no phono section.

I guess I could point out that a brand new Fet Valve RB preamp is $1499 direct from us.

Yea, there are regular Ebay sellers whose business model seems to be based on the "greater fool" theory.  I can't really argue with it...  I've sold used stuff on Ebay at auction and seen it bid up to the new online price.  Not all Ebay buyers are smart shoppers.

Recent article in Washington Post told of many people now buying items locally and then reselling for a profit on eBay.  Some making $50K a year doing this.

I just looked up the amp - seller says it for sale as a collectible, with serial # 19.  I guess Frank needs to start setting aside the first 20 models on any new products and sell in future at inflated price.
