Huge , enormous screen!! So sharp, so colorful, darkest blacks !!
It costs more money, but it’s like flying first class.
Our local AMC Loews just opened one a few months ago, and I’m hooked after seeing and hearing what a movie should be.
There are only maybe 150 in the US right now .
Anybody experience a Dolby theatre? What are your thoughts ?

My favorite feature of Dolby would be the rumbling chairs. If an explosion or something happens, all of the seats in the theater rumble. The chairs also recline.
Dual 4K laser projectors. This means two projectors, each one at 4K resolution. Laser projection means that, because the traditional lamp is not used, anything on the screen that is black will be projected actually black. In a typical theater, because a lamp is used, anything that is black will actually be a dull gray.
The sound quality is absolutely amazing. We have just over 100 speakers in there, which means that the sound literally comes from all around you. If an object flies past the camera, you can hear it move from the front to the back of the theater. This is amazing for big musical pieces, as each instrument gets its own corner of the theater.
Less seats means less cleaning for us ushers. It’s also easier to get food or spills off of the chairs, as they are leather instead of cloth-type stuff.
