New West Records has released 3 CDs and 4 DVDs from the Austin City Limits series:

CDs:

Susan Tedeschi
Robert Earl Keene

Anyone heard these? I am interested in the quality of the recording

I really like the Stevie Ray Vaughan Live at Austin City Limits DVD, so I just bought the Susan Tedeschi DVD on half.com

Thanks for the heads up.

They have to confirm and then they can take up to 6 weeks to ship, so don't hold your breath, but I'd be happy to give a review when I get it.

The best ACL show I ever saw on TV was Tom Waits.  I've tried to track it down from various PBS stations around the country, but have been unsuccessful.  Now that was a performance I would love to own...

I've got a VHS copy of questionable pedigree of that show: I definitely have his "Storytellers" appearance on VH1.  I can transfer a copy to DVD if you're willing to put up with the limited quality.

Got the Susan Tedeschi DVD today.

She is bluesy/Jazzy/slighty rockin'.

The sonics are very good.
I mostly like her voice..she is from Boston and has a slight twang.  Sometimes it get's on my nerves, then she sings something to redeem herself.

There is too much Hammond B3 for my tastes, but they have a good guy on electric piano.

I'm glad I got this DVD..it's worth the money to me.

I wish she played "Rock Me Right" which is a killer rockin tune, but she doesn't.

On the bright side, the last 45 seconds of It Hurt So Bad was worth the price I paid and got her a standing O in the middle of her concert!   :o

Anyway, I CAN recommend this DVD if you like mostly slow bluesy type songs with a very good backing group and a FIRST  CLASS singer that puts the likes of Diana Krall to shame with her voice (although Diana can play piano better than Susan can play the guitar IMO).

Anyway, I'm glad I bought this one...
