Hello!

Been into audio a long time! Just getting into Class D amps. I currently have the NuPrime IDA-8 driving Focal Aria 926 mainly thru my Macbook/USB and also have the trusty OPPO BDP 93 as another source.

Just ordered a PeachTree Nova 150 to compare the IDA 8 as they are near the same price point. Previously had Jolida JD1501 (Hybrid) and before that Creek 5350SE both excellent amps. it is true that Class D does wonderful things to tighten bass bloom and is overall extremely impressive. Ya gotta try it at least. With an open mind.

I have had some excellent speakers, two sets of Joseph Audio (RMS22 and RMS25XL) both great speakers. I had the OHM Talls, would have liked to try the bigger ones as I liked the sound and the 360 effect. I had the Martin Logan ESL's (retail for $2800) and they sound unbelievable...but only if you are in the sweet spot. Could no longer deal with that but if they ever figure out how to make them sound better off axis, I am interested.  :icon_lol: I like the Focal's, they are still breaking in and are getting better every day. They actually sound great with the Nu-Prime IDA 8. The NuPrime cleans up their efficiency on the low end, the mid range and high end on this system is awesome. Lets see how the Peachtree does in comparison!

Cheers- CM

Welcome to AudioCircle CoachMike

I have tried Class D, I use to have NuForce Reference 9SE V2 which were very good mono power amps. I switched back to Class A/B in the form of Spectral Audio, never going back to Class D ever again for any serious listening they just don’t come anywhere near.

Interesting. What is the gap between Class A and D to your ears and analysis?
