Hello everyone!

I am an audioholic that is happy to join AC!  I am very DIY-centric and try learning as much as I can along the way.  If I were to build my stereo from the ground up again, I would begin with clean power, room prep (measurement/diffusion and absorbsion) and vibration isolation.  After that, all gear is happy gear!

  • To whom more was given more will be required.
    • Never go to a psychiatrist, adopt a straycat or dog. On the street they live only two years average.

Yeah, his favorite spot is next to (not on top of!) the Pass.  Doesn't matter if it's 96dB in there or not

Absolutely; silence at high-gain has been the enemy that I keep closest   I would love to try some of Paul McGowan's AC regens ($$$), but for now have a few sets of APC voltage regulators, Emotiva CMX-2 DC filters and Topaz/Xentek/MGE transformers in series for the main system, computer and subwoofers.  Digital is on separate transformer to keep everything inky-black  :D

Thank you Arthur!  I discovered a little too late that a 3- or 4-way setup may be the best sonically, but it does get a little crowded if you don't have a closet to hide the amps or a room wider than 14'
 ;)

TooCool - Those are amazing units!  How long have you ran yours?

I just had a look at the unit and it says it’s been on for 425 days 15 hours and 29 minutes.  :green:
