Hello from Iowa

Hi folks. New member here, living in Iowa (Iowa City).

About me and music and audio: I've always felt deeply connected to music, esp rock, but also jazz and fusion jazz, and would like to listen to more classical. I used to listen mostly on headphones, but then developed tinnitus/sensitivity (from too much auditioning of new headphones, ironically!) and so haven't been listening for a while. I'm new to high-ish end audio, recently purchased my first good (for me) speakers, Goldenear Triton 7s. Enjoying listening to music again, but already bitten by upgrade-itis.

Anyone else on AC in Iowa or thereabouts?

I’m now wishing I had titled my intro thread “Hello from Iowa” — seems like more “neighbors” might have noticed it that way.... There isn’t a way to edit the title, is there? (I looked, but couldn’t figure out a way to edit)

Out of interest: what would you say is the brand of speakers that gets the most love here on AC? (I ask because I’ve seen other audio boards where there’s a clear brand or two that stands out as consistently favored in contrast to most brands that have mixed opinions).
