From a Cnet article on wireless access security:

"In one less-conventional approach, Force Field Wireless has begun marketing latex house paint it claims will block wireless radio waves from escaping through the walls of a home. Known as DefendAir, the paint is laced with bits of copper and aluminum that help form an electromagnetic shield around your house, Force Field said. The paint, which sells for $69 a gallon, is certified nontoxic and lead free, and comes only in one color--gray."

I read that and thought it might also have some uses in the audio realm.  I imagine a gallon would cover quite a few components if it would help block RFI.  Am I nuts?

Not sure about your sanity, but I certainly got a good belly laugh, at the mental picture of my ENTIRE system in battleship grey...

Could always have an outer layer of paint on top of this one.

Finally!  I can take the unsightly tin foil off my helmet and just paint the damn thing.

Hey guys, it says "house" paint.  Interior or exterior?

Grey audio/video rooms?  What about the floors and windows?  How about shingles?

I deal with hospital MRI units that have very high RF shielding requirements and those rooms get a heavy netting or solid sheets of copper wrapped around the entire room.  So a wonder how effective this could be.

As I barely understand, grey is supposed to be a good color for HT (to minimize wall reflections in a darkened setting).

Can I paint my car and avoid smokey's radar gun? I don't mind people thinking I'm Mennonite if I can get home before them.

What if it were to work on my house, but I had indoor TV and FM antennas? Guess I better buy more CDs ever so real soon now. Or iTunes.

Most importantly, will it mess with my Tai Chi Chuan?
