Hello Audio Circle
« on: 12 Nov 2018, 10:01 pm »
Greetings Humans (as my kids' favorite greeting these days)

Been a long time browser of AC but decided to join recently. I have a few interests in audio, recently I started doing more DIY audio. I used to mainly do little mods like changing caps and small components. But recently started playing with DIY cables, amps, and hopefully eventually build my own set of open baffle speakers as they look really interesting. Hope to learn more of those here.

  • To whom more was given more will be required.
    • Never go to a psychiatrist, adopt a straycat or dog. On the street they live only two years average.

Welcome to the AC,
It's nice to have another DIY'er aboard.  You mentioned an open baffle speaker project-- have you given any thought to a DIY electrostatic?  They're pretty amazing.  Food for thought:

That look really cool, actually! I learned a lot from following the page. However, at this point, that's just too involved a project. Maybe when the kids are all off to college and I am half retired, something like that will be possible!
