So I have abandoned the audiophile piles of stuff approach, for the great sound, minimalist approach.  I bought a pair of 600XDs for my mains, and was so taken with them that I bought these for surrounds.  Having listened to these as mains and surrounds, I have decided they are utterly wasted in surround duty and so am going to use my smaller and cheaper Pioneer active speakers for surrounds.  If you are unfamiliar with these, they have both digital and analogue inputs and can operate wired or wirelessly via the Dynaudio connect hub (included).  All you need is a streamer, digital or analogue source and you are good to go.  There is an excellent review of the 600XD on Computer Audiophile.  With the software update (done) these speakers are identical to current models with the exception of cabinet finish (they have gone from satin to high gloss finish) and naming scheme.  The end result is a musical, dynamic full range speaker in a compact beautiful package. Price when new was $10k.

The 400s are sold.  I do have their big brother, same finish, the Focus XD600, again, identical to the XD60 except for finish.  Unlike the 400s, the 600s are a sealed cabinet, with bass to 20 Hz. They are astonishing.
These also come with the Dynaudio connect.  New price is $13k.  I will sell for $6k (firm) plus shipping.
