Just completed design of a high gain version of the Trumpet. I found a way to jam in a differential JFET headamp in front of the first tube stage. So everything fits into the same chassis. Although not as quiet as the external step-up transformer, sonics remain unchanged. I call it the Trumpet MC.
Units can be built to your gain and loading specifications. Stock version is 66dB with 100 ohms.
Now if I can just find a good source for koa wood - to make it visually different.
