Icepower 1200 as2
« on: 25 Jul 2018, 03:47 am »
I am new  in this forum. Not too much experience and knowledge in music. I am interested in knowing where to buy this unit. I read a sale price of $910.
Is this unit comes in 2,3,4,0r 6 channels? What type of cables are needed? I have the virtual dynamics, heavy cables.
Thanks :)

Welcome to our forum!

The $910 price is not available anymore. The person offering that price raised it shortly after offering it because B&O does not permit selling their amp modules direct to public as a kit. He has since left our forum.

1200AS modules are manufactured by B&O as either a 1 channel (1200AS) or 2 channel module (1200AS2.)

The amp is internally fully balanced so it can make best use of a balanced signal which uses an XLR connector and cables. But it sounds equally good using a single ended signal, which uses an RCA jack and RCA cables.

Any finished amplifier built using this amp module will have XLR input connectors. It might also have RCA input connectors, but if not you can use a XLR>RCA adapter. Neutrik makes a good adapter, available from Mouser.com.

It is an excellent amplifier. I have one and I highly recommend it.
Another similarly excellent amp module to consider (if you like a slightly warmer sound) is NCore NC502.
I believe Nord makes amplifiers from both of these modules.

I have also had incredible service with Rouge Audio, $830.00euro and $55.00 shipping to your door.

You have a PM. These are really nice amps.

No other costs other than what I stated, really good company to work with too.

Jared at Bellissimo is also a good guy to work with and his prices are similar if you would rather deal with someone local. He also builds custom amps but I haven't seen one.
