Is it possible to copy a CD-version of Velvet Revolver, supposedly not copyable:

to the iPod.  I was going to buy this CD yesterday, but did not, as I don't want to buy anything I can't also put on my iPod.

Contraband can be downloaded from iTunes to an iPod.

Thanks, but that means that I'd have to buy the CD AND the iTunes (the iPod doesn't have the best sound on my 2-channel system).  I don't see why I'd have to do that, so perhaps I'll just forego getting this music altogether.

Sorry, I meant I'd have to buy the online version of the songs and the CD version, which would be obscene.  I might buy the CD and see if I can burn the iPod version, too, even though the CD supposedly has anti-copy protection.

I have the CD version, which ripped in iTunes using the Apple lossless codec without any problems.  I have burned a couple of songs back to Cd without any problems (for a party CD), but not the whole CD.

Hope this helps....

I have several Copy-Controlled CDs which i have successfully ripped and burned onto backup CD including Norah Jones Feels like Home, Sarah Brightman Live in Las Vegas and Ben Harper Diamonds on the Inside.
I've heard others have problems putting the songs onto Minidisc and burning with CD Copying devices though... but I seem to recall that it all has to do with the drive itself being able to read the data, meaning that the Copy Control just messes with your CD-Rom's ability to read the disc, and if your CD-Rom can read it it should record fine... but this is just what i've heard.

Thanks!  I'll buy the CD on my next trip to my favorite store (which sells both new and used CDs -- last time, I picked up four used and two new CDs).

Ok, I was able to copy this CD with no problem.  Unfortunately, I'm not sure I like the CD.  I think I'm getting too old for this kind of music.  Most of the songs seem to me to be one set of wording that is repeated over and over and over, interspersed by guitar and drums.

I kinda feel the same way.  I liked it on first listen, but the lyrics are so weak it doesn't hold up to repeat listening.

I like some of the rhythms and guitar work though

I always liked Slash's guitar work, although he can tend toward the bombastic.
