I have for sale an excellent condition Exemplar WMTS XP-2 balanced dual mono tube preamplifier with Stillpoint's Ultra SS footers. The preamplifier comes with an external dual mono power supply with seperate channels for the right and left side (the unit requires two power cords.)

This is John Tucker's ultimate preamplifier and has his latest upgrades, such as, GE 6BQ7A/6BZ7 tubes instead of the Russian 6922. Additionally, the unit has the handmade Urushi caps which are a significant upgrade over the earlier teflon caps.

As mentioned above John installed over $1,500 worth of Stillpoint footers. The Ultra SS are on the preamplifier unit while 8 Stillpoints Stand-Off isolators are fitted to the internal circuit boards.

Stereo Times reviewer Norm Luttbeg was so enthralled by the Exemplar WMTS XP-2 preamplifier that he bought the review sample. He stated that "Never have I heard anything approaching what I heard in these and other albums on the Exemplar XP-2. I hasten to note that I was able to gain enormous improvements through the StillPoints isolation devices. But initially with the Exemplar XP-2 just placed on the top of the BMC DAC1 PRE, it shined. Although I have never had the Ypsilon PST 100 MKII in my home, it alone strikes me as the only rival for the Exemplar XP-2 at better than twice the price. Ultimately, I could not return this unit to the manufacturer and bought it."

The top, front, and sides of the preamplifier and power supply are free from any discernible marks, however the bottom does have a few mars caused by racks and footers.

I am selling because my ears have recently become sensitive to the low level noise from tubes. Consequently, I'm changing to an all solid state system.

I'm asking $SOLD or best offer, plus shipping from 78731. The original MSRP for the WMTS XP-2 preamplifier is $15,000, and it comes with its two original boxes. Also included is the Exemplar remote control as well as a pair of DC power cords for connecting the power supply to the preamplifier.

That's a very fine looking "piece of kit" you are selling!  If I hadn't bought a new preamp last year, I would likely be all over this. Good luck with the sale.
