Hi all. Not usually a participant in forums as i always see them just deteriorate, but Audio Circle does not seem too suffer from that. I look forward to asking many questions, hopefully not too silly. I am life long music lover of almost all genres but mainly Jazz these days. I collect vinyl but find music via Tidal.

Having recently purchased a house with a huge garage, i will be converting a section of it into a dedicated listening room. Then compiling a new stereo system to suit.

But in the meantime, my humble current system is:
Funk Firm LSD Turntable
Denon DLA100
Salience 2.5 mk2 Phono Preamp
NAD 216 THX Power Amp
NAD 1240 Pre
Wharfedale Jade 1
SVS SB1000 Sub

Nice to meet you all...

Welcome.

Recommend visiting Cardas.com for "ideal" room shapes/setups and reading Floyd Toole's "Sound Reproduction" for guidance into room acoustics before laying out your listening room.

Blackmore

Welcome to Audio Circle and we’d love seeing pictures of your new listening room as it progresses.

Welcome to AC, Andrew.

My wife and I are trying to sell our current home and moving to a new location. I have toured 40+ homes recently and few of them offer ideal listening rooms. Some of them have very large garages that I have wondered about adapting to my needs and desires. Post away your photos.

Thanks you all. Your kindess and readiness to share knowledge is much appreciated. Photos will put up as I progress. Progress will be slow though as I have to juggle work, my little girl and run it as a clandestine operation from the better half lol.

The roof is being done today as it has some leaks. I was lucky that the previous owner had already ordered all the material but never got around to the repair so left it all for me. I have 90m2 to play with, but I will not be using all of this for the room lol. Wont get into too much heare but was thinking around the ~5x6m, balanced out to some sort og golden ratio. I will definitely be studying Floyd E Tooles book and the cardas website, thanks for the recommendations!
