There are some pictures of C-Series versions of the 4B-SST and 14B-SST amps on the Bryston website in case you haven't already seen them:

http://www.bryston.ca/press/model_launch.html.

James T:

Are the changes only cosmetic, or are there any other changes that you can let us in on ?

Thanks.

Just cosmetic.

The C-Series is designed for normal consumer installations especially the 17 inch faceplate versions.  The C-Series will be available in Black or Silver 17 inch (without handles) or 19 inch (with handles) faceplates.

The Pro versions of the amplifiers will maintain the current Pro look and be available in Black 19 inch rackmount faceplates only.

Does this mean only the Pro versions will be rack-mountable?  I notice the silver C-series have no holes.

Correct - if you really need to rack mount go with the Pro version.

Is the new C-class fascia 4B-SST backward compatible with the previous 4B-SST ?

Sorry for bumping up an old thread, but I just thought of another question regarding the C series: Are the handles still fully functional?  That is, can one person lift and move the amps just by the handles?

Yes the handles will support the weight of the amplifier.

Hey James,

I am in the process of buying a used 14Bsst, unfortunatly the unit that I am looking at is the "less powerfull black face"   model.
The rest of my gear is silver, what would the cost be to buy a C-series faceplate (17" and/or 19" with handles)?
Oh ya, Canadian dollars, I am in the Toronto area.

Thanks

PS: What do you guys think is a good price for a 1 year old 14Bsst?

It is $200 for a faceplate and $100 for the pair of handles.

Thanks James,

Where should I go to get the new faceplate?
I work at Dixie and Eglington, can I get it in Etobicoke or would I have to go to Peterborough?

Cheers

Yes the Etobicoke service can change it for you.
Ask for Peter.

Thanks again James,

It is looking like I will not be needing a faceplate afterall.

Just before I pulled the trigger on the 14Bsst I asked the seller to forward me the serial# and build date for the amp.
I have not heard back from him since... hmmm!
