I found the AudioCircle while I was searching for info on tube preamps / power amps. I was leaning toward a Primaluna tube set when I stumbled across info on the Don Sachs tube preamp. That in turn lead me to the AudioCircle website and the thread "Don Sachs SP14 Tube Preamp Review ". From there I got diverted to the "Cheap And Cheerful HiFi" circles and the "Folsom's great little 7297 Chip Amp " circle. Long story short I ended up selling some unused audio gear to a fund Don Sachs tube preamp. I'm now selling off unused toys to fund a Don Sachs KT88 Kootenay 120 power amp. I believe the Sach's set will be my end game preamp and amp. I feel confident in my purchases from Don after reading all the good info in these circles and talking with Don himself.
I'm not giving up on solid state either. I forget how but I ended up in the "Folsom's great little 7297 Chip Amp " circle. Having a little bit of an electronics background in my resume I became interested in building Jeremy Hood's Folsom 7297 Chip Amp. I've got a set of boards from Jeremy and am waiting for my parts to arrive from Mouser. I'm looking forward to diving into this DIY project. Being a low power, 15 watt, amplifier I'm going to need some efficient speakers. Now I'm investigating DIY efficient speakers in the circles.
So this discovery of the AudioCircle is leading me down a new path of DIY hifi and speakers that a month ago I didn't have the slightest intention of taking. I'm enjoying the trek so far..............Thank You All.
