FS: Benchmark DAC2-DX

Selling my DAC2 DX, silver, excellent condition. Used in a bedroom system, never moved, 9/10. Currently sells for $1995 on the Benchmark website. Asking $1200 firm. Seller pays flat $30 for shipping and I will cover paypal fees.

The unique thing about the "DX" DACs is that they are the only Benchmark DAC that has a line level out. The other DACs ("L" and "HGC") all have their outputs either tied to the volume control or offer a HT pass-through. In my case, this feature was significant because I wanted to run an external headphone amp in my system. The Benchmark HP Amp may be good for some headphones, but I had a better amp in mind for my Sennheiser HD800's. With this feature, I simply put the volume control down to zero and I can run my headphone amp. With the the other designs, you must use HT pass-through, which means you need to shut your amp off or you risk blowing your speakers. This feature was intended for studios that require line level - and gives you more flexibility overall.

Pics are stock, but there is no difference. I can send some shots if you like.
