Setting up a DLP and Home Theater

What is good disc to buy for setting up a new DLP?  I see these home theater setup discs, but have no idea if they are worth it or just a waste of money.

Example: http://store.yahoo.com/dvdinternational/dvdi-0712.html

Thanks

Steve

DVE should be a good disk to use to setup your new setup. I've used the older version many a time (Video Essentials) and been most happy with it.

I've also got the AVIA disk, which a lot of people like. I've just never bothered using it. Nor have I bothered trying out my copy of DVE that I've had for a good long time...

DVE is a good disc and I used it to setup my Marantz VP12-S1 DLP pj.

I like it better than the AVIA disc (which I also have).

I'll second George here.  DVE is better than AVIA, it can be a PITA to navigate, but has everything you need.

Two recommends.  One, go to http://www.dvdpricesearch.com to find the best price on it.

Second.  Listen to as much as you can stand while you watch it, some may be very redundant depending on your subject knowledge.  When it gets to the video adjustments, take a couple notes about WHY you're doing what your doing on the adjustments and what things are supposed to look like.  That way, in a few months/years when you want or need to do it again, pull out the notes (including those on how to navigate that damn disc) and go directly to the test patterns so you don't have to listen to that narrator drone on and on and on and on to get to where you want to get to.

Which DLP did you get?

More like which one am I getting.

My wife wants it in an amoire which was no easy task.  We found a nice one that was made for the Samsung 61" DLP Model: HL-P6163W.  So we bought the armoire, and when it arrives I get the TV.  Sometime in Feb.

I just want to be ready to set it up when I get it.

Thanks
