The original stamped sheet metal aluminum top platter is almost always defective on these turntables. Due to the stamping production process involved, these platters were seldom perfect even when they were new.
Top platter offered here is precision machined from solid round of stainless steel and it is guaranteed to be flat and spin true. Weight and rigidity of stainless steel top platter provide perfect support for the record. This top platter is heavier and stronger than any of the other aftermarket replacements being offered. Stainless steel is more expensive and harder to machine than aluminum.
This beautifully crafted stainless steel platter is quite significant upgrades for any Thorens TD-124 turntable.
Please note that 45 rpm adapter is NOT included and you will have to use the adapter from your original Thorens top platter.
