Which 10B for biamping?
« on: 2 Jan 2005, 12:58 pm »
I would like to biamp my three-way Magneplanar 3.6/R's which, according to multi-amping options from the manufacturer, would consist of a hybrid setup in that the internal passive mid-tweet XO is fed the high-pass at 250 Hz @ 18db/octave, and the low-pass goes straight to the bass panel (200 Hz @ 6 db/octave). Which 10B should I opt for? The sub or standard?
Thanks.

I have a real old 10b (std) and it's lowest xover point (high and low pass) is 70 Hz.  I believe the sub version of the 10B has more xover freqs for sub type freq such as 40, 60, 80, 100, 120.

The std ver I have has a low pass and high pass for 200 and then 300 but not for 250.

HI Crimson,

Yes the 10B Sub has the crossover points and slopes required for the Maggies.
