Hello Audio Circle Members, I just joined and hope to be able to gain and share knowledge with fellow stereophiles. My current rig consists of a Parasound HCA-2205AT 5 Channel Amplifier, McIntosh MSD4 Surround Processor, OPPO BDP-95 Disc Player, Pioneer DVL-919 Laser Disc Player, (yes, I still have laser discs, unbelievable, I'm really showing my age) anybody remember laser discs?, VTL TL-2.5i Tube Preamp, Pro-Ject Perspective Turntable with an Audio-Technica AT-150MLX Cartridge, Acoustech PH1 Phono Preamp, (made by Sutherland), PS Audio SL Three DAC, all protected by a Panamax MR5100. I have PBN Audio EPX Speakers for my Mains, Legacy Audio Phantom Rear and a Powered Impact II Sub, with a Intimus 6C Center Channel. Interconnects are all Analysis Plus Copper Oval and Solo Crystal Oval. Speaker Cables are Analysis Plus Black Mesh Oval 9 (Bi-Wired) for both Mains and Center Channel. All power cords are various version from XLO. I listen to mostly Classic Rock and Progressive jazz, I also enjoy Symphony & Classical Music.

Welcome Indiana :thumb:
I like LV discs its graphic and paper quality are the best in all hi-fi history, but they were expensive from $80 to $120each.

Greetings & Welcome to AC Indiana_Jones     :thumb:  Nice system. I have a VTL TL-5 pre in use in my office system. And, I just got my Nakamichi 581 cassette deck repaired a month ago. The tapes still sound very good even after 20-30 years. At least the ones the mechanism hasn't failed on. Nothing wrong with vintage gear.  8)

Some of the Box sets were that expensive, most major movie release were anywhere from $29.99 to $49.99, depending on how many discs and what format they were produced with. I still have about 80 of them. A few are showing signs of laser rot when played.

I agree Vintage equipment can be very enjoyable, I've been toying around with the idea of buying a Reel to Reel tape machine. I saw in stereophile Mag or it might have been The Absolute Sound mag, that New Re-Releases of Reel To Reel tapes from the Original Recording are being manufactured and sold again. LP's have made a huge come back, don't see why Reel To Reel Tape can't make a come back too.
