Hello to all. Not really a new enthusiast, just the reawakening of old one.
I used to look through the Service Merchandise catalog at all of the quality stereo (and "quadraphonic") gear. My father had purchased a Sansui receiver and SP-20 speakers, along with a Garrard turntable from a neighbors son who had just returned from Japan. (GO NAVY).
Oh, and some Pioneer headphones. I am guessing 1974.
Heard my first phase shift on those, listening to Dark Side of the Moon, the first of many such wonders I was to discover.
My first purchase was a Superscope receiver, paid for by a spring and summer of lawnmower jobs in the old neighborhood.

I will never forget the sight and smell of the green Grass,s and dog s&^% laden wheels on my trusty reel type mower.
