He's been releasing amazing records, winning Grammys, and making fans for the last few years, all after a longer career as a songwriter for big mainstream country acts like Kenny Chesney and George Strait, and co-writing with people like Sheryl Crow, Vince Gill, and Peter Frampton. Adele has covered him, among many other artists.
He sings with his wife, Morgane Stapleton, who wrote a hit single for Carrie Underwood, and has a solo career of her own. He's from a family of Kentucky coal miners, was class valedictorian, got into Vanderbilt for engineering, writes amazing songs, has an incredible vice, and looks super cool:
