Our December meeting is on the 9th starting at 1:00. For December we're taking a break from ultra high end equipment to hear what the poor folks listen to: a mid-fi system including a Cambridge Audio CD player, a Krell integrated amp, and Eminent Technology speakers. We'll also hear a comparison of two almost-identical pairs of speakers - same enclosures, same woofers, but different tweeters. One has a dome tweeter; the other a compression driver and horn. Update: Barry Thornton of Austin Audioworks will demonstrate a prototype of his newly designed Black Swan phono preamp using a JWM Acoustics Karen 3 turntable with an mm cartridge and a Karen 6 with an mc cartridge.
