In a different thread somebody pointed me over to Harmon's website for some room acoustics articles.  Having read them, I can say that they are informative and quite helpful.

Below are the links for a few of the articles and their room node calculator.

George,
Thanks Good stuff.  Ethan has a room node calculator on his Real Traps website, but this one gives a nice different perspective, as well as the supporting doc.

How's the Tact coming along?  Any new revelations in the past week, or are you finally just listening to a great system... :D

Still playing around with speaker/sub placement.

I have enjoyed music and a few movies via the Tact and it just gets better and better.

I am off the next two weeks so I hope to have things nailed down before I go  back to work.

Glad I only had three days off to play with mine.  Two weeks of this and I'd be in the loony bin.  As it is my brain is about to explode.

:bomb:

After some initial setup difficulties, the TacT is working as advertised.  It is an amazing piece of equipment.  Unfortunately it is a great analytical tool in that, should you be the obsessive compulse type like me, it shows exactly the changes that occur with moving the speakers.  So I've spent the last two days moving them 1/4" at a time trying to find their ideal location in the room.

Egad!  My length modes are only a few feet apart.  I'll have to check to see where they are relative to where I sit (which is probably why, when I moved my head back and forth, lengthwise, I ended up moving my seat less than a foot but the sound was better).

Hey George, I went and bought 6 traps from Real traps.  Wow, have they made a difference!  I going to figure out the difference once I get the ETF program up and running.

Double Egad!  I'm sitting right near the null for the first and third nodes!  I'm sitting at about 11 feet, and the nodes are at 11.5 feet!  I may have to change sitting positions.  Although the program also says that the middle of the room (in width) is problematic for these modes.  No wonder when I move just off center, the sound is better.
