Just an FYI on the BESL December Sale.  For the money, I have never heard better sounding speakers than Phil's System 5's (with subwoofer from BESL).  They do everything world class speakers are supposed to do and (IMO) do not have any weaknesses.  I should say, they sound great on all types of music.  They are designed to be used with a subwoofer, are sealed monitors and can be used with the (included) passive crossovers or with the active DCX crossover.  BESL sells the measurement tools (microphone, mic-preamp), software (very inexpensively), connections for the DCX and everything you need to put together a state of the art active speaker system.

Please note, I am just a fan of BESL speakers and do not work for the company or get discounts of any kind (although I hope to take advantage of the current sale).  .  BESL is a relatively small (but technologically sophisticated) operation and I'm a real believer in their products and approach to selling them.  There is nothing "slick" about Phil's approach to loudspeaker design or marketing.  In fact, Phil is a very quiet, non-confrontational guy who doesn't seem to use some of the usual frilly "audiophile-speak" to describe the sound of his designs, make unproven, outlandish or unscientific claims, or get caught up in why they are better than company "B"'s speakers (not a real company!).  He simply lets his speakers speak for themselves.  After hearing them, I can understand why! :D
