For those of us living in Cheese heaven, there is a very nice website started for the recently formed society, which is seeking members.

Ridge Street Audio is planning a presentation in January, and there are
tentative plans for presentations by other mfgr/vendors.

Jerry,

I suspect you're not getting many responses to this thread because there's just not a lot of NE Wisconsonites here on Audio Circle. In fact, I don't think I've noticed any cows posting here since I've joined this wonderful site. Perhaps I need to track down some threads about cheeses or the "evils of hamburgers".

Actually, there are quite a few Wisconsinites here (and a few expatriates like myself), but most seem to be from Southeast Wisconsin. There was a poll a while back to form a Southeast Wisconsin regional circle, but it didn't generate quite enough activity the first time around to justify a circle. I found that a bit odd, actually, since there are some rather active posters from SE WI.

Hmmm.... it seems to be 19 deg F with a 9 deg F windchill in SE WI at the moment with nary a cloud in the sky! There's nothing like a brisk winter morning to get your day started!

Hey, Tampa residents are welcome to join as well. The initiation involves eating a block of Lindberger cheese while denouncing allegiance to the Bucaneers.

Moooo! We're out here. I believe there are at least half a dozen of us in SE WI alone and a few closer to Madison. Not sure how many there are up nort' der hey.

I'd like to offer my future support. After CES I'd be happy to make arrangements to send a pair of ACI speakers for the group to check out. Another possibility would be to host a meeting at our Onalaska showroom sometime this spring.

I live in Portage, WI. about 45 minutes north of Madison. There has been a thread over at AudioGon (http://forum.audiogon.com/cgi-bin/fr.pl?lclub&995054231&read&3&4&5) that was started several years ago.

Having an audio group in Wisconsin is great, I just need to find the time to attend. I could see asking some audio vendors that I have relationships with (as a customer) and see if they would be interested in showcasing there goods/services at one or more meetings.

That would be great, Mike. I'd suggest going to the website to make contact with the organizers. I'd enjoy meeting you and finally getting getting acquainted with your products.

I wonder how many WI residents are Audio Circle members...

The only way I found is to sort the AC Member List by "Location". Unfortunately this is ordered alphabetically so it depends on what the user wrote in that field. For example since mine says "Port" before "Wisconsin" it doesn't show up with the rest of the Wisconsinites.

While it is unlikely I would want to take a mid-Winter trip to your neck of the woods, overall I would greatly prefer your climate to that of Tampa (over the course of a 12-month period).

As for the Bucs, I moved here 4 years ago, and have yet to catch Buc-fever. If you think this is a "fair weather city", it has nothing on the multitudes of "fair weather fans". I have never seen more fickle folks in my life. I've lived in Oklahoma City, Denver, Kansas City, Texas, New Jersey, and Louisiana prior to coming here. Absolutely the least-loyal football fans I've ever come across.

Oh, and good luck with your meet. I'm sure I would have a blast.
