20 amp power cord to 15 amp IEC connector

Hi,

I know the 15A IEC's are much more readily available.

Does anyone know of where to get an adapter to break in the 20A IEC female end of a powercord?

I have a Powercord that I got for my amplifier that has a 20A IEC
female end and I want to connect it to a regular small appliance such as a computer or fridge to break it in.

Here is a picture from Audiogon.

On the left is a picture of the 15A male plug end while the right one is a picture of a 15A female IEC.

I need an adapter that has a 20A male plug that converts to a 15A female plug.

Does anyone have any suggestions?

Thanks in advance.

That's one I've not seen yet. You'll probably either have to have it made for you, or make it yourself.

If you want one made for you, ask Wayne at Bolder Cables about making one. I've had him make custom burn-in adapters before.

If you want to do it yourself, find a 20A IEC panel mount male plug and wire that up to a 15A IEC female plug if you want to run the cord off a 'puter. If you want to run it off a fridge, the use the 20A male, and a standard femal end to convert the cable into an extension cord while you're using the adapter.

Thanks Bubba.
Im not too much of a DIY person especially when it comes to electrical components.

Just hoping I am able to find a commercially available unit to burn in my 20A PC's.

umm...you got that backwards, the left is the male IEC and the right is the female plug.  both 15a.  I have not seen such an adapter.
