Plus I have a good stock of RM30 in the Bud Bailey finishes which are very nice: lite and dk oak, piano black, cherry and rosewood.
The Rosewood RM-30s are very red. They are the best looking cabinets I have seen from VMPS. I have yet to get a good close view of the MLS cabinets yet.Turk should be getting his African Ebony RM-40s back from Brian soon. I will better be able to make comparisons after that.IMHO the $800.00 upcharge for the Rosewood is worth every penny.
The cabinet work is absolutely a non-issue when it comes to VMPS speakers now.
I don't think people were worried about the quality of the cabinets, but are instead trying to get a handle on the true color and wood grain texture of the available finishes.
The Rosewood speakers were more red than the Paduak Teak of the JJAZ amplifiers, Monkeywood base of my Teres turntable and Bubinga side panels of my preamps.
If you wish to call them brown with red highlights, cool. To me they are more red than brown.
