SOLDThese are the Salk Silk monitors in a mahogany veneer with a rose-red dye and a satin lacquer finish. They're a 2-way passive monitor using a RAAL ribbon tweeter and a ScanSpeak Illuminator 5.5 inch driver. They're incredibly smooth and detailed, and get surprisingly low for a bookshelf speaker, with a 43Hz F3 response! The front port also significantly increases the ease of positioning compared to a rear ported speaker, so they could be used as desktop monitors and placed closer to a wall.
As you know, Salk Sound typically has a large backlog of orders since they build every one of their speakers to order. There's usually a significant wait due to the craftsmanship involved. This is a way to immediately get your hands on what Audioholics referred to as the Best Bookshelf Speakers in the World here:
http://www.audioholics.com/loudspeaker-design/best-loudspeakers-worldI love these speakers and have only owned them a few months, but I'm going in a radically different direction for my setup. I'm the only owner and have a child- and smoke-free household. I have 100% positive feedback at both Audiogon and USAM under this same username.
Price is $2500. Buyer pays a flat shipping fee of $70 as well as PayPal fees. I'm in Atlanta, GA if you'd like to meet up in person, and I'm willing to drive a reasonable distance for delivery.
