Hi,
Just wondering if the mensa dio will benefit from the use of the 48/96 upsampler ?  What kind of settings has the best sounding ?  48hz or 96hz in the upsample ? Do I need to adjust the setting in my mansa DIO ?  I am currently using the int/ ext setting with my CAL transport.

Any comments would be hightly appreciated.

i wouldn't try it unless i had a money-back return option.  i tried a gw-labs dsp. (supposedly similar, if not identical to the monarchy upsampler combined w/the monarchy dip.)  it made my self-modded art di/o (similar but not identical to the mensa), sound etched, harsh, basically unlistenable.  others have had similar expereinces, but others have also liked it.  so, you mite wanna try, but w/a return option.

Suggest you look into the DIP Classic -- it has better jitter reduction than the DIP Upsampler.  Frankly, marketing hype aside, I am not convinced that upsampling is necessarily a good thing in actual practice.  The benefits from reduced jitter are clear and not disputed.  Feed the Mensa as good a digital signal as you can and you will be rewarded.

I have been using the Monarchy 48/96 upsampler for the last few days now.. I like the improvement it made to my system.  It gives wider soundstage, better dynamic and more air.  However, I am not sure I am using my DIO properly.  I left it on the solid green light (not sure it is ext or what).  If I press that button to change it other colors Yellow, red, red and yellow..  It does not give the distortion as it used to be without the upsampler.  However, I still like the green light setting compared with all the others.. Does this mean I am still using 24bit / 44.1khz ?  or it is 48 khz ?  I also tried to set the jumper on the circuit board for 96 setting. I didn't like it..
I am going to keep it for the performance as is..
