FS: SOLD - - - SELLING MY BEST POWER CORDS -

WHOLE COLLECTION SOLD

I am selling all my high end audio gear.  Because of my advancing age and physical condition, I have decided to sell everything I have gathered over many decades as an audiophile.  These are my best power cords, chosen after lots of A/B/A/B testing in my own system.   I used this collection of cords to tune my system, particularly after changing components, which I have done a lot.  I remember a reviewer writing “Power cords are even more component-dependent than interconnects.  A power cord that does not show good compatibility with one component, may really shine with another.”  Amen Brother!

I am hoping to sell the whole collection of five cords together as a lot.  The original retail collective value would be $4,200.  My pricing individually would be $1,175 total, but If someone buys all of them, I will discount the whole collection for only $995 (less than the cost of many single new cords today). You pay the shipping.  A description of each cord and individual pricing is below.    If there are no takers for the whole collection within a few days, I will sell the cords individually.

CORDS FOR DIGITAL EQUIPMENT

SAHUARO AUDIO SLIPSTREAM POWER COUPLER CORD
Sahuaro Audio was a manufacturer of excellent handmade cables in Phoenix, AZ.  The Slip Stream uses an odd looking mesh-surrounded pod between equipment receptacle and the power-cord section. The power-tail sections, which plug between pod and wall, consist of a solid-copper core, braid-covered with an Eagle three-prong male plug at one end and female receptacle at the other. These cords are flexible and easy to use.  I never had a problem with the plugging pod into components because it too is flexible.

A great review in the Stereo Times reviewed this cord and the Shunyata Black Mamba.  http://stereotimes.com/cables120199.shtml   I agree with the reviewer, “The SlipStream gave excellent resolution with the CD player, with good soundstaging, detail, and articulation of the instruments and singers. The SlipStream could exhibit a tendency to brightness on some software when run from a wall plug, but this largely disappeared when run from the PS Audio Power Plant P300. The SlipStream did not present as lush and palpable a presentation or as great resolution as some of the higher priced cords, but is an excellent performer, irrespective of its price point.”  This was my favorite cord for CD or DAC.  This cord is 5 feet long. These were only around $600 when new, but are very rare and hard to find.  I am asking $275 plus $14 US shipping.

SHUNYATA POWER SNAKE BLACK MAMBA POWER CORD
This is a large, 1 inch thick black cord using the "Stardust" material inside the outer layer that is also present in the costlier King Cobra power cord.  You can hear it move inside when you handle the cord.  It is very easy to use.  The Stereo Times reviewer wrote, “The Black Mamba gave an excellent sense of air around instruments and very good instrumental and vocal presence. It was somewhat laid back on certain material and the level of resolution was generally not as high as the SlipStream. The Black Mamba was exceptionally musical and did not exhibit brightness. My notes consistently mention a sense of ease in musical presentation with this cord.”  I agree with this, a more layback, relaxed sound.  This is a 6 ft. cord.  These were around $700 when new.  I am asking $250 plus $14 US shipping.

SAHUARO AUDIO PRETHRILLA POWER CORD
This is similar to the Slipstream, but without the pod.   Handmade, excellent quality and very easy to use.  The sound is very like the Slipstream, but not quite as open and expansive sounding.  This is a 5 ft. cord.  This cord was around $650 new and is also very rare.  I am asking $200, plus $14 US shipping.

CORDS FOR AMPLIFIERS

VIRTUAL DYNAMICS NITE POWER CORD

These were $1,100 new.  This is an unusual cord, with three separate large stiff cords connecting the ends.  It is very stiff and a pain to get into position. Once you have sculpted it to fit into your system, it is retains its shape and can easily be kept away from other cables.  I have used this cord on SET amp and PP amps with equal success.  I seems to me to have the most open, direct and detail sound of the cords I have tried.  I liked it better than a very pricy Elrod I tried.  This pair is well used and the braided metal covers are showing wear, including broken strands and discoloration.  It is no longer the shiny silver it once was, but it still retains its brilliant sound.  This particular cord in one of the Enhanced Cryogenic Version cords and is 6 feet long.  I am asking $200, plus $14 US shipping.

MICHAEL WOLFF CARBON RIBBON GAIN – HIGH CURRENT CORD
These were $700 new.  This is a great sounding cord for high or low power amps, flexible and easy to use.  They deservingly got rave reviews.  I found this cord to be clean, clear, detailed and layered, but also relaxed and somewhat laid back.    A very useful tool to have in a quiver of cords.  This is in great condition and is 5 feet long.  I am asking $250, plus $14 shipping.  Please note the photo shows two pair.  Only one is for sale.
