Is that a volume control knob on the front of the amp?

Poser output with the kt-66 is about 35 per channel in ultralinear mode and 20 in single ended. It can swith between the two modes on the fly with just a slight pop.  That is a volume control.  It is passive with 1 input so it can be used as an integrated. A very versatile and really good sounding amp.  For the money it is great value.

Yes triode.  R two toggle switches in front of the transformers that allow u to switch between the two. I have the assembly manual. Bob increased the size of the original st70 transformers.  It uses 12au7 tunes instead of the 7199's.  i have Been using 12bh7a's in it.

Sorry it is not a triode it is a pentode tube obviously, wired in single ended mode.

It never had a tube cage.  I guess one of the old st70 ones might fit.  This is not a rebuilt st70. It is an all new amp based on the st 70.   U can go to the tubes4hifi.com website to read all about this amp.

Yes, a Dynaco ST70 Cage will fit. I'm using on my Latino VTA ST70.

hell, $1000- $900 is a deal.    $700 ? this should have been gone within seconds of being listed :)

Not sure why there needs to be any changes to use 6550's vs any of the other tubes mentioned.

When I put the 6550's in I was unable to bias them down in the operating range. Bob said it would probably a resistor change to get them to bias right. I didnt do it. I dnt know if running them a bit hot would damage the amp or just shorten tube life. So that leaves me with a matched quad of new issue tung sol 6550's if anyone is interested.
