This passive/active preamp has no sound of its own. It is passive until a certain point on the attenuator, then becomes active after that.
I have rarely got it into active mode with the amps I have used with it ....... plenty of volume / loudness before that point.
I am the original owner. Two and a half years old. Never any functional problems or issues.
No cosmetic issues. I have all manufacturer packing.
