I am about to buy one or the other of these units and am soliciting opinions.

I'd appreciate reasoning behind the opinions and I don't want to start a fight.   :nono:

Thanks in advance

I really don't have an opinion as I haven't tried either of them.  However, as a word of encouragement, it really is quite simple to DIY something like these yourself and then you have the flexibility of trying other things out or upgrading later on.  Food for though.

You're talking to a man with ten thumbs, no tools and who's spare time is spent listening to music     but I appreciate the thought and envy those who can build their own   :notworthy:

Josh,

What would be the price, time-investment, and skill level involved in doing something like this?

You should add the Running Springs Audio conditioner to your
list. There's a review on SixMoons.

running springs looks indeed interesting from an off the shelf perspective.

welbornes labs has interesting filters as well.

Guys, just so you know, I had zero, I mean zilch electronics knowledge about a year ago, then I undertook building my own power conditioner.  That was the spring board for my DIY journey.

If you guys want to start a seperate thread in the lab I'd be more than willing to share with you info on what I did from another newbies perspective.   I am sure we can get DVV, Occam, JohnR and other highly informed individuals to chime in as well.  The balls in your court.

You can make it as little or as big a project as you want, but it really is quite simple to do, honestly, but you do have to be cautious and smart as you are working with mains voltage! Nothing to fear per se but don't work on it with the power plugged in, etc.

Although their stuff looks like a good product, not in the running for me - Way too pricey for me  :bawl:

The Exodus and the CPC are both under $500.00

I can do more than just buy another power conditioning or any audio product.  Put your post in LAB and let us see what my 10 fingers can do for my audio system.
