For sale is an excellent SP14, the top of the line of the Tubes4Hifi designs, using the venerable 6SN7 driver tubes. It is a line stage preamp, but does not have a tape loop. I have upgraded the driver tubes to great NOS Sylvania and GE tubes.  The preamp sounds better than preamps at several times the cost. It does have a small blemish on the top of the case that might be able to be buffed out.  Shipping will be at the buyer's expense.  The reason I am selling this preamp is because I have upgraded to Don Sach's custom version of the preamp.  The Don Sachs preamp is better, but this basic version of the preamp is 1/3 the cost of the upgraded preamp and compares favorably to the much upgraded Sachs preamp.  The preamp was built by a very competent audio tech and it performs flawlessly.  The asking price is $700 and I have enough gear that trades are not of interest.  Thanks for looking.

This appears to be an older version, compared to pictures on the Tubes4Hifi website.  Besides cosmetic differences, there does not appear to be a tape loop or the requisite switch.  How old is the unit? Can you provide pics of the internal layout.
