I auditioned a speaker set at a fellows house about a month ago that didn't work for me. However, he was nice enough to set up his main system and it just blew me away. Three ways from a small European company who I never heard of using Seas(?) drivers. On the other hand, it was the best sound I've heard in 20 years . . . at least since the SF Stereophile show in the Joseph Audio room. It delightfully reset my whole idea of what's possible. Turns out the speakers were Penaudio Sara Signatures, a "2.5 way" from Finland. At 86 dBw/m, they were being driven by pretty light weight tubes (30w DIYs, I think). Handsome, too.
Has anyone heard these? Are my Thiel 1.6s comparable? Any dealers in the USA, particularly in New England? Would love to learn more from someone with hands on knowledge.
