If you are a fan of classical piano, you probably know that the Van Cliburn competition is taking place as I type.  I went to a semi-final round last night.  There is so much young talent in the world, with artist from around the globe taking part.  I heard a young man from China and one from S. Korea- both amazingly talented.  But the S. Korean kid was beyond amazing.  I'd close my eyes and swear I was hearing the clarity of Vladimir Horowitz.  More semi's are today, but I had only so much time to attend.  Next time, I'm spending the cash and getting tickets to all the finals.  It only rolls around every 4 years, so it's time to make it happen- our hearing doesn't improve with age.
