I noticed Parts Express has the B652 Air, with a pleated ribbon diaphragm AMT tweeter.

Interestingly, you can buy the bookshelf speakers as a pair cheaper than a pair of the same tweeters alone. Same tweets better price, more stuff. I like stuff.

had a pair of the original daytons and the did not suck with a chip amp and tidal at a girlfriends place for music on the cheap.

I have 4 of them in my shop powered by an Adcom 535 amp. They sound really good. A great BFTB speaker.

I'm always fooling around with cheap audio.  I've got a pair of these.  They aren't the last word in refinement or detail, but they are okay and non offensive sounding.

At that price point, the crossover must have really cheap components, and I would expect the cabinet to be pretty flimsy.

Bet some no rez and upgraded components would make a difference.
