VMPS Drivers I know mits a long shot
« on: 3 May 2017, 10:35 pm »
Hello, have had a few pairs of VMPS speakers over the years (30c's, 30m's, 40's) I just purchased a pair of RM30M's. They have all the original drivers, neo-panels and woven carbon fiber bass drivers with the detached stationary phase plugs, not the newer drivers.

So, here it is, one the the 10" side firing woofers were damaged in shipping, anyone or anywhere to get one piece or a pair? Or, are there any recommendations for replacement drivers. Next,  I found on this site a link to the 6.5" magawoofers and have sent an inquiry...still waiting, heard 4 pieces may be too small of an order.  And last of all, don't chuckle, but are there any neo-panels ever available? mine are fine but the speakers are old, just would like to have a spare or too. I may be already be years too late.

Thanks, Steve

Welcome Steve, to Audio Circles.  Here's the link to the VMPS circles, there's tons of great info there. Good Luck  Zak

Steve,
You might be better off with a pair of 10" passive radiators and do the change on VMPS Audio Circle that disconnects the 10" active, remove the passives and plug the 6" holes on the bottom.  Brian said this makes the bass better sounding in all ways than having the 10" woofers.  I did the 10" passives to a pair along with removing the 4" passives, plugging their holes.  The bass was more powerful, deeper and more dynamic afterward.  You would have to find a pair of 10" passives, however.

Best of luck,
Bob
