Anyone have any experience with this affordable tube preamp? I've been considering buying one to go with my Dynaco ST-70 clone amp.
Thanks, Sam

I do. It uses 2 12AX7's in a low gain circuit (which means lots of negative feedback). I suspect that they are in an SRPP configuration (simply because Jolida uses this for almost everything). I have no schematic to look at though. I am not sure why Jolida insists on using these tubes when a 12AU7 or other lower gain tube would be more suited to the task. It works OK but doesn't sound tubey or have much bass extension. I think the case and the remote volume circuitry could be used to build a decent preamp in :) The remote volume works really well.

Be careful when rolling tubes, the PCB is very, very flimsy.
