There's been a buzz around these new models from Dr. Hsu. I haven't heard them, has anyone here? The price is nice, it seems like a lot of speaker.

94db sensitivity, rated to 50hz +/- 2db. 8 inch woofer.

I heard them at RMAF, and they certainly did nothing wrong. The setup Hsu had was a common receiver to a 5 channel surround system along with his subs. The concept does work, given that it is a coincident design it will have better directivity control than most 2 ways. High sensitivity is a plus in my book. However, I would make direct comparisons with JBL's LSR308 (which is active) along with the LSR305, and also with ELAC's Uni-Fi series of speakers before coming to any firm conclusions. I would like to see measurements done on the Hsu model as well.
Nevertheless, I have great respect of Poh Ser Hsu as he is a smart man who hails from Singapore (I lived my formative years there and have great memories) and his daughter is following in the footsteps of her father's intellect - she is currently a student at Harvard Medical School.
Best,
Anand.
