I do not believe Klipsch are made of real wood. At least not all of them. My Forte 1 are particle board with real wood veneer.
As said earlier you cannot go wrong with vintage Klipsch If the MSRP for the III is correct I saved over $3500.00 by going vintage.

If the Forte 1's you have a line on are in good shape and priced right I'd say go for it. Sell them later if something better comes along, I doubt you will lose much if any $$$.
It is interesting how many people that own Klipsch have held onto them for 20 - 30 years or more. Mine were purchased a couple years ago from the original owner who bought them in 1989.
