I recently acquired a Firstwatt F7 and could not be happier, using it to drive Omega compact Alnico monitors - the F7 has
huge sound stage and is extremely detailed...had been using SET for years Nelson Pass has made it possible to swing the other way.

Interesting, Charlie. I'm running the same setup. I've gone through quite a parade of Pass Labs and First Watt amps over the last 3-4 years. The F7 is really a fantastic all around amp, and very versatile (in the FW family). I like it VERY much and think it's a bargain, if you value resolution and purity and don't need a lot of power. Just wish I had more time to listen.

F7 owners what are you using as preamps? I have used Pass B-1 (wanted to hear the F7 in its pure state with a passive), then a Manley Shrimp tube pre (has low output impedance so it is a good match), which I liked better for bass response, but my favorite is my newly acquired Wyred 4 Sound STP-SE with stage 2 upgrades, a buffer at lower volumes like the B-1 but with added clarity and drive to my ears - now I think I am hearing the F7 as it is meant to be! Speakers are Devore Gibbon super 8's. You will love your new F7! I have had mine for over a year now, I was on Reno HiFi's waitlist...
