Hi Everyone. I just joined as a new member to this forum. My name is Bob and I live in New Jersey, USA. I've loved listening to music since my teens and am now retired, so quite a long time. I've attended hundreds of live concerts over the years as far back as and including Woodstock. Much of my equipment is DIY mods to vintage stuff or kits I've built through the years. I've been on some of the DIY sites over the years but just started signing up on some more of the regular audio forum and came across this site. Always interested in communicating with other people who enjoy listening to music. I'm also interested in some of the equipment that comes up for sale. I've actually never used headphones as I always preferred the sound of speakers. To me speakers sound more like how music at a live concert comes at you as opposed to the in your head of headphones. But it's time for me to add headphones to my equipment so I can listen without bothering anyone else in the house. I just started building a headphone amp from a design called The Wire. I purchased the boards a while ago and just got around to ordering all the parts I'll need. I'm a slow builder so it'll probably be a few months till I get it all together. I'll be looking for my 1st set of headphones. It's been hard to find a place that has good headphones available for previewing before you buy. I'll probably have to wait for some kind of meet where it becomes possible to hear different headphones.
