Silicon Arts Design Si2 Amp and Preamp Pair, Excellent Condition.

This is low-wattage purist solid state gear, designed to largely replicate the low-wattage tube gear from Concert Fidelity.  (http://www.siliconarts.jp/).  Silicon Arts is the solid state division of Concert Fidelity.

The preamp has zero gain, and really nice electronic volume control.  The power amp, which is rated at 10wpc into 8 Ohms, 18wpc into 4 Ohms, has pretty much a SET sound.  It's a class AB configuration, but consumes little power when idle.  The stock power supplies are included, but the Si2 benefit from being battery powered (12VDC), and are better sonically if they're kept on.  (I'm sure they'd also do very well with a good linear power supply.)  Takes a few hours of being energized to really settle in and sound good.

List prices  are $1980 and $1780.

They have been my big investment into really good low-powered electronics (this after owning a good number of other low-powered amps, none of which I ever found to be all that satisfying).  They do drive my 98dB Audio Nirvana single-driver speakers quite nicely--pure and with a very quiet background, as you would imagine.

I'm also including the cables, a 0.5-m and 1-m pair, that came with the Si2.  But you would probably want to use your own high-end cables..

$1500
