AVA vs Naim

Has anyone compared AVA amps to Naim amps? Is so, is the sound similar or dissimilar?
I have AVA gear with my Salks and know the sound but someone recently suggested Naims for my Spendors.
Thanks for your thoughts.

I bought a used AVA Fet Valve 550 Ultra and a new AVA Vision SL solid state pre from you to drive the Salk HT2-TLs and sometimes the SongBirds. I have tried the AVA gear with the Spendors (S100 and SP100s) and they performed admirably but friends suggest that Naims with Spendors would be a better match and the Spendor forum posters agree whole-heartedly so I want to look at Naim for now. I was also thinkng about vintage McIntosh - MC2205/C35 - but a friend who heard them with the BC1s wrote that they sounded sploogy. (That's the actual word he used, 'sploogy'.)
