Yeah, really interesting take.  Hard to disagree.  Us audiophiles need to remember, the vast majority of people will take convenience over (even alleged) sound improvements.  This does really seem like SACD The Sequel.  But I can't imagine trying to pitch the average consumer the merits of MQA, even if it does sound better - I can see the blank stare now.

Here is another take on MQA, this time from Schiit Audio. They aren't fans either.

I suppose I don't care if Tidal supports it as long as they don't jack up my subscription to cover the licensing- $20/mo. is as much as I'm willing to pay to stream music no matter how good the quality is.
